All GP practices are contracted to provide "essential services": that is treatment of people who believe they are ill.
We also provide "additional services": 
- Contraceptive care
- Child health surveillance
- Cervical smears
Thirdly we have a contract for "enhanced services":
- Monitoring of patients on certain medication
- Care of patients with problems of drug misuse

Patient Rights
In Scottish GP practices, patients have rights related to access, communication, confidentiality, respect, safety, and feedback/complaints. Healthcare professionals have a legal duty of care to ensure patients receive safe and effective care.
The healthcare provided should consider the patient's individual needs, what would most benefit their health and wellbeing, and encourage their participation in decisions about their health and wellbeing.
